Board of Directors

Community Action Opportunities has a unique tripartite board structure that is designed to promote participation of the entire community in reduce the causes of poverty and strengthen families.

The Board of Directors is composed of 18 members:

• at least one-third democratically selected representatives of citizens on limited incomes
• one-third local public officials or their designees, and
• the remainder are representatives of business, industry, labor, religious, social welfare, education, or other private groups in the community.

All board members reside in Buncombe and Madison Counties.
